Western Maine Rabbit Person of 2007

Western Maine R.B.A. has chosen Paul Jacques as 2007’s rabbit person of the year. 

Paul has been interested in animals for quite a few years.  In the Fall of 2004, Paul was given two rabbits from a person who could no longer care for them.  This started his interested in show rabbits. 

In the Spring of 2005, he attended a show and decided on two breeds of rabbits to raise: Crème D’Argents and Dutch.

Paul did much research and even made a trip to Ohio that summer to purchase stock.  His good reputation traveled fast.

He attended shows in Maine and out-of-state, winning many Best of Breeds and even a Best in Show in Massachusetts.

Paul jointed Western Maine and swiftly became an active member, helping out at shows and displays, while still raising his quality rabbits.   Paul became involved in the show committee, taking over hiring the judges for the club and helping in many other ways.  He also was show secretary for the Maine State show the past two years.

Last year Paul became Western Maine’s treasurer, keeping very accurate records of the club’s funds.  He also became superintendent of  Western Maine newest rabbit display at Waterford’s World’s Fair. 

Paul has always been willing to pitch in where needed, becoming very active in rabbits in the relatively short time he has been a member of our club. 

We all appreciate everything he does.

This is why Western Maine has chosen Paul as rabbit person of 2007.
